This is more like a fantasy that has come true. It can be said to be a revolutionary movement in the field of gaming that has considers basic video games pretty basic.
VR gaming isn’t specifically for a single age group, even though it has been noticed that it is more famous in the age group of 13 – 30.
Just talking about a virtual world which is actually computer imitated environment with multiple users who design their own avatar and participate in different types of games, gives people the power to imagine. Also, while playing the game, participants meet random people and communicate with each other. Thus, these games help in development of mind making it more active and intellectual.
VR’s Impact on Gen X and Gen Y
While virtual gaming is making teen happening for youngsters, it also helps in –
- Building up their confidence level.
- Teaching them to keep a competitive yet sportsman spirit.
- Building their identity, while playing.
- Throwing them to difficult situations from the real life
- Making them fulfil the tasks assigned.
In a way, Virtual Reality is also helping in building up one’s character. Just by replicating the real scenarios, VR gives the players a full-fledged 360 degree experience.
Virtual world vs Real world
Real world is much vaster than virtual world; things are much more complicated and messy. Virtual world is compressed and much easier to handle. The major difference between them is, the real world has emotions and feelings and the virtual world has no space for such things. The second most important difference; in virtual world we can be whatever we want to in seconds but in reality we have to earn for what we want to be. Real world has much more limitations for example; laws, cultures, society’s expectations etc. A virtual world is easy to live in.
Virtual reality vs augmented reality
Augmented reality and virtual reality are inverse reflections of one in another with what each technology seeks to accomplish and deliver for the user. Virtual reality offers a digital recreation of a real life setting, while augmented reality delivers virtual elements as an overlay to the real world. Augmented and virtual realities both leverage some of the same types of technology, and they each exist to serve the user with an enhanced or enriched experience.
How do AR and VR work together?
It is not always virtual reality vs. augmented reality – they do not always operate independently of one another, and in fact are often blended together to generate an even more immersing experience. To explain their working together, we can take the example of mini militia, also known as doodle army, where the player name the avatar and represent himself in the virtual reality (battlefield). The game is single – player as well as multi – player. And, the scorecards, feedbacks etc. are a part of augmented reality. Both AR and VR play an important role in the formation of a game. Therefore, it can be said that they both complement each other. Some more examples to this would be Pokémon go, house of the dying sun, Minecraft etc.
